Our Week

One week ago I fell.

It has been a crazy whirlwind...

I slipped in the parking lot at USU during the last snow storm.

My center of gravity is a little off with all this extra baby weight I am lugging around, so a little slip turned into a major tumble. I knew instantly that something was majorly hurt because I couldn't stand up and I didn't want to move I just crouched in the snow in a ball. It was awful.

Finally I said a little prayer that I could at least make it to my car and try to figure out what was going on. I inched my way over to my car and sat in the drivers seat for awhile and all I could think about was getting back to my Mom's house or throwing up....and I didn't want to do the later.

Miraculously I drove all the way back and inched my way into the house. Im not kidding when I say inched...I think Clay's Great Grandma who is 91 could have lapped me....it was ridiculous.

My OB was out of town but his office thought I should still come in and get checked out. So I made the long trek down there to make sure the babies were alright.

Thank heavens the girls are doing great and luckily fluid levels and both placentas are okay.

Turns out that I damaged my pelvic bone pretty bad. I may have cracked or broken it...the Dr wasn't sure, I have too much swelling and I was in too much pain for him to really know.

So I have been put on bed rest.

Not that I can move around to do much else...

I have no idea what I would have done if we didn't have family close by and I am so grateful for all of the help! Keep us in your prayers...we need it!

Our Girls...

Every month we go in to get an ultrasound

and check the growth of the girls.

It has been amazing to watch as my body grows to accommodate

these growing girls.

As of right now Piper (Baby A) weighs 3lbs 12oz and Harper (Baby B) weighs 3lbs 7oz. They are both healthy and strong with plenty of fluid and growing ahead of schedule.

We finally were able to get a good profile of each baby and in 3D! It was amazing to finally see their little faces!

We still don't know if they are identical...What do you think? The camera angles are a little different for each baby which makes it hard to tell.

I guess we will have to wait until they are born! :)

Lately I have been trying to catch up on our family scrapbook before the twins get here....

I love looking through old picutres and recording those memories in a creative way

hopefully my children love and cherish their scrapbooks as much as I do!

My boy

Raising a boy is hard.

Somedays I just want to throw in the towel and call it quits...
today was one of those days.

Cage has not been sleeping well at night for the past few days. I don't know if it is night terrors or growing pains but he wakes up 2-3 times a night screaming like crazy and all he wants is to sleep next to us, so I let him. Night after night the screaming takes a toll on you.

Today he did not want to wake up for church.
I tried everything to get him up but he was not having it...

I should have called it quits and gone back to bed but I didn't.

He and I went to church, we sat in our normal pew and brought all of his normal church things just like we do every other Sunday but this Sunday was not normal....

During Sacrament he threw a whole container of crayons straight up into the air, spreading them over at least 3 or 4 pews. Then after coming back from time-out in the hallway he preceded to scream...not just an upset child scream but a full body tantrum.

I was done.

I stood up and walked straight out of church with my screaming son and went home. We both took long naps. Luckily Clay took over when he got home from work because I needed a break.

Being a mom is hard.

I am not perfect and unfortunately I am constantly being tested in the areas I struggle the most. But I try to remember that one day I will have other trials and challenges with him and I will miss and wish for the days of flying crayons and night terrors.

Thank heavens tomorrow is a new day and we can start fresh.

Gratitude

We have had a lot going on...

nothing new there :)

but lately we have experienced many tender mercies and blessings and I want to say how grateful and thankful I am.

I am grateful because...

The babies are growing...

growing very quickly! They measure about 2 1/2 weeks ahead of schedule (weight wise)... cross your fingers that they keep it up and are big healthy babies :)

Clay was injured at work a week ago and has been recovering from a sports hernia. It has been hard because he has been in a lot of pain but he will heal...and our insurance will cover the cost :)

This week we were blessed to find a beauty of a minivan ;) that fit in our budget and meets the needs of our growing family...so at least now I can bring the babies home from the hospital :)

It is easy to get caught up in the stress and anxiety of adding two babies to the mix of our crazy family

but I can't help but notice all the extra blessings too!

24 Weeks

Today I am 24 weeks....

we have 11 more weeks to go!

(With a twin pregnancy you are lucky to make it to 35 weeks)

Here is a little update...

We are having GIRLS!

These little girlies kick A LOT!

Yes, I can tell the difference between the two....baby A is very active and kicks me in the ribs while baby B is more gentle and calm but can dish it out when provoked :)

So far both are head down but they still have room to switch around so things could change.

I am huge.

Rolling over in bed, putting on my shoes, and getting up off the ground are almost impossible.

It is amazing to watch my body grow and change to accommodate these babies. Crazy how fast time has gone...they will be here before I know it!

Pregnancy Update

Things have been a little crazy around here our schedules are packed everyday

but I wanted to post a little update about this pregnancy so far...

(I am currently 16 weeks and 5 days)

but this is documentation sake...

Weight Gain = 1 lb

Belly Button is halfway out ALREADY

Maternity clothes all the way!

I have felt plenty of movement :) They are very active!

Being pregnant with twins has been VERY different from my pregnancy with Cage. I was sick sick sick with these babies for the first 15 weeks. (FYI throwing up in the car is NOT fun) All I wanted was to lay down and eat Sonic ice, oh and sleep all the time!

Thankfully we have lots of family around to help with Cage and make sure we are doing alright.

Even though this pregnancy has had its hard times, I am beyond grateful and so thankful for these two blessings! Although unexpected, nothing beats that feeling when you see two little hearts beating on the ultrasound machine. I can't wait to see their faces and touch that velvet soft baby skin.

Double the blessings and double the love!
